Biodiesel
Greg Pahl USA
2005 paperback
The author has dedicated this book to the many people around the world who have worked tirelessly to make biodiesel a reality.
Although the use of biodiesel is fairly new to this country (*please see note below), many other countries have been experimenting and selling this fuel for quite a few years. Germany is currently the highest-producing nation in Europe. But as far back as 1908 Henry Fords famous Model T car was designed to run on ethanol, gasoline, or a combination of the two.
The author in writing this book shares the history of biodiesel and explains the technology in straightforward terms. The basics of the fuel, its history and the politics involved, are just a few of the topics about "the world of biodiesel".

How To Make Biodiesel
Dan Carter, Dave Darby, Jon Halle & Phillip Hunt
2005
As the oil crisis is becoming more and more into the forefront of the news, hopefully more and more people will understand that mineral resources do not last forever.
This book contains almost everything you need to know to get started with Biodiesel. From what it is, why it is good for the environment, the chemistry involved in making it (from small experimental batches to making larger batches), the legal/ environmental/ planning requirements and paying duty. It is perfectly legal as long as you pay fuel duty to Customs and Excise, and even the Government recognises it as an environmentally friendly fuel. Biodiesel will run in any diesel vehicle, some vehicles requiring different levels of fuel quality.
This book is really excellent. Roger Budgeon, owner of the Green Shop (and if anyone knows about us, knows he also owns a petrol station and was the first in the country to sell blended Biodiesel on the forecourt) definitely gives this book his seal of approval!
So as it makes financial sense, environmental sense and in fact every common sense option going, buy this book to see if it is something you could have a go at.
