Music from the Coffee Lands
The romantic image of coffee has always been a strong one. It's dark mysterious colour, the way its fabulous smell permeates a kitchen on a lazy Sunday morning, the mellow milky taste of a great cup of latte, the dark, smoky coffee bars of the classic movie age.
'Music from the Coffee Lands' is an exiting musical journey through the coffee producing countries. It includes tracks from Peru, Columbia, Kenya, Zimbabwe and The Congo and highlights some of the similarities between Latin and African music.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this CD is donated to Coffee Kids in support of their efforts to help thousands of people in coffee-producing regions in Mexico and Central America improve the quality of their lives and build more sustainable communities.
A mellow yet uplifting coffee lounge soundtrack, so relax, enjoy the music and sip away!

Italian Café
The songs on Italian Café have an air of nostalgia about them, recalling the 1950's and early 1960's. After the chaos of the second world war and before rock and roll dominated popular music came the era of 'La Dolce Vita'(The Sweet Life) when traditional Italian melodies mixed with jazz and swing music filled the cafes and nightclubs of Italian cities.
On this cd the legendary artists of those days are featured alongside respected contemporary performers to create a journey through the romantic café's of Roma, Milano and Venezia.

This is a fantastic collection of songs by female vocalists from all parts of Africa.
The role women play in African culture has always been an extremely important one and while many musical instruments are traditionally played by men, women have often provided the voice of Africa's music. 'Women of Africa' shows the strong spirit of the African women, among other things it condemns war, poverty and suffering, celebrates the homeland and calls on modern African women to 'Get up, get up / Don't be afraid / Free yourself from the shadow / And fight for your rights!

Paris
Imagine a sunny Paris street, you're sitting outside at a pavement café, sipping a café au lait, watching the world go by, listening to some fabulous vintage French music……………
We all know that fashions and trends come around again with time, and music is, of course, no exception. 'Paris' highlights the artists of the Nouvelle Scene (New Scene) who are responsible for bringing a fresh sound to the traditional genre of Chanson, which was the classic French sound of the early 1900's. It saw a revival in the late 1950's early 1960's before Rock and Pop music became popular with the younger generation, and now it is becoming fashionable once again.
Including tracks from Thomas Fersen, Carla Bruni, Paris Combo and Myrtille, the main themes that appear in this collection are those of heartbreak and passion, confirming that the French are, as is often said, among the most passionate people in the world.
Many of the artists of the Nouvelle Scene are influenced by other world styles, listen out for the Brazilian and Latin rhythms from Pascal Parisot, the breezy samba flavoured track from Keren Ann and the samba piano runs and trombone riffs which work so well on "Samba de Mon Cœur Qui Bat" from Coralie Clement.

Typical Cuban instruments such as congas, bongos and timbales are played alongside pennywhistles and panpipes.
Dust off your Cuban heels, grab your partner and get ready for a Latin dance party with a twist!!!

Blues Around the World
Between the 17th and 19th centuries the African slaves brought their traditional chants to the cotton, rice and sugar fields of the deep American south and this served as the basis for the blues, gospel and other forms of African-American music.
'Blues Around the World' is a relaxed; easy to listen to collection of blues music which demonstrates the enormous influence the blues has had on musicians across the continents. On this album you'll meet a Catalonian "blues mama" and a Mandarin-speaking, motorcycle-riding blues poet, as well as a Mauritanian whose fans call him the "blues man of the desert."
A portion of Putumayo's proceeds from the sale of this CD is donated to Music Maker Relief Foundation, Inc. A charity that helps the true pioneers and forgotten heroes of Southern music gain recognition and meet their day-to-day needs.
