Thermafleece Passes Insulation Standards Test29 October 2002 - Thermafleece, the British wool insulation, has received approval from the Bristish Borad of Agrément (BBA).
Thermefleece is the first sheep's wool to gain the certifiacte and Second nature UK Ltd who manufacture the product see this as a breakthrough for the wool industry. It proves that a naturally derived and environmentrally friendly product can meet or exceec the same demanding standards as its conventional counterparts. Christine Armstrong of Second nature UK said "This means that specifiers and purchasers can have complete confidence in the technical performance of Thermafleece and can focus on its super environmental charateristics. Thermafleece is benign, recyclable, locally-derived material and is an example of the sort of low-energy sustainable technology that everyone is calling for". On 29th October the Green Shop energy adviser Eddie Tottle attended a special presentation at the House of Commons where Thermafleece formally received its BBA approval. David Maclean MP said "Thermafleece is a brilliant and long overdue use of one of nature's finest products. Wool is natural, warm and environmentally firendly. This exciting development gives us all a chance to back a good new Bristish product, help our environment and also help hill farmers throughout the UK at the same time."
